My new mural dissolves the site specific architecture in order to create an abstracted passageway, inviting the viewers to embark on a journey through a maze of fragmented letters and real fake chrome straight into heaven. What an XP.
Letters are often the base for my graphic excursions and even though they tend to fall apart in the design process, they still define my work to a substantial degree. The movement, flow and general aesthetics of shapes that can be summed up as ‘style’ is my personal motivation. Nothing more, nothing less.

Playing with architectural elements and the illusion of depth in a futuristic trompe de l’oeil style on this unusual thin format in Metropolink Festival in Heidelberg, Germany. Between flooding rainfalls and freezing temperatures down to -8°C I luckily managed to complete this long & thin format, for the first time ever working with a grid to transfer the draft proportionally correct. Usually I prefer a projector for the large scales, as it is the fastest and most accurate way of transferring detailed outlines down to the centimeter. It worked quite well even though it took an extra day of work.
Thanks to the amazing team of HKWALLS, I was selected to visit Hong Kong during Art Basel and submit a few animations for large scale LED screens located around the city.

Of course I had to paint a few small pieces and photos as well:)
“In the heart of the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong, where the luminous dance of neon and the vibrant pulse of urban life converge, I would like to create a captivating spectacle that transcends the ordinary. An optical illusion will unfold, defying dimensions and beckoning viewers into a dreamscape where reality blurs with imagination. The design will resemble a dynamic interplay of color and form, introducing reflective elements that seamlessly meld the cityscape with my aesthetic vision. Mirrored surfaces dance with the surroundings, momentarily suspending observers between the tangible city skyline and the kaleidoscopic dreamscape. Abstract arrangements, blending typographic elements and impossible architecture are referencing my roots as an urban artist and love for the city. The animation will feature an interaction with the two buildings, for example based on the duality concept of light and shadow or night and day.”
Recent mural for @luafestival 🚩 This was a tough one to design & paint, with a very unusual architecture, some extruded windows, lightposts and even a large metal sculpture already mounted to the wall a few decades ago. Additionally, the boardwalk was rather narrow, aslope and a lot of traffic pushed through the busy intersection during daytime. And of course 2 days of heavy storm😄
I made about ten drafts that remained unused until I figured out an arrangement that worked for the space (and for me) and am particularly happy, that everything went as planned in the end. 🙏🏼

“Since 2006, the Colab Gallery has been working exclusively with style-defining, international artists from the field of graffiti and urban art. In the recurring rhythm of two group exhibitions per year, over 200 artists have since accepted the invitation to Weil am Rhein. This year, Colab Gallery will add a new element to its exhibition format and has created a residency program for artists.
The aim of this program is to offer selected artists the opportunity to work without distraction and without economic risk. For this purpose we provide a spacious room in the Colab Gallery and a well-rehearsed team. For 14 days in February this space will be studio, workshop and laboratory at the same time. A safe place where the artist can focus on his or her own artistic quality and ability. In this way we can make it possible for our visitors to experience what would otherwise remain inaccessible to the public during the preparation of the exhibition.”

Around 2019 I started to experiment with the various aspects of the spraycan as a tool and found particular joy to craft a variety of modifications, devices and contraptions involving spraypaint and it´s characteristics.

“Thecurrent aesthetic of my work plays with classical as well as digital motifs alike, aiming to build free chains of associations without becoming too concrete. Resembling the transience of a dream, I try toinvite the viewers toembark on an abstract journey through their own subconsciousness, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction, the analog and the digital world.”
Compiling this new body of work started as a journey aiming on the arrangement of fragmented lettering alongside objects that would create a maximum of depth in dimension, leading on towards a certain display of the dichotomy of the digital age and its analog counterpoints.
Architectural elements are found alongside anamorphic illusions, meeting elements from trompe l´oeil as well as graphically fragmented letters and typography, rooting to the strong Graffiti background of the artist. Reflective materials play a vital role in the surreal arrangements, where physics often seem to be disabled by default.
The architectural illusion of depth is underlined by the additional Augmented Reality (AR) layer of each piece that the viewers can experience through a customized app on their smartphones. This interactive element adds a special dimension to the shown work, revealing hidden layers of animations, sounds and movement that invite the viewer to actively engage with the piece in order to discover its true ghost in the shell.
In these performative short videos, I explore visual ideas of new forms of CGI supported abstract painting. Using tools like 3d software and augmented reality assets in an increasingly digital world seems to be a logical step for me as an artist, accessing new aesthetics and blurring the lines between reality and computer generated overlays further thus creating surreal moments.
