Spraypaint and Augmented Reality on concrete (simply download the free app ‘Artivive’ and point it directly at the wall or just an image of the wall to experience the AR layer)
Thanks to the Betonliebe project I had the chance to paint this mural in Langwasser, Nürnberg (germany) at the Frankencenter mall. Of course I felt keen to include yet another augmented reality (AR) layer that corresponds to the piece.

Spraypaint and augmented reality on wall
Located on the facade of the Atrium mall in Moscow, Russia amongst a grand collection of contemporary muralism. My latest mural is a tribute to the worlds most famous video game Tetris, ported for virtually almost every platform ever. I always wanted to involve on of my favorite childhood games that I spent countless hours on. The game was first created by in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov at the soviet academy of sciences for hardware testing and soon made it to the streets, going viral on the first home computers of Moscow and later worldwide. This is my largest work up to date in terms of height as well as squaremeters and I”m glad I had the skilled team of the Artrium project as well as my brother supporting me during the 6 days of production.

My latest interactive augmented reality mural was painted in Hagen, Germany during two and a half windy days. Parts of the concept where inspired and actually designed by local Kindergarten kids, thus creating a mashup of two otherwise antithetic styles. I was really lucky to have probably the best producution manager with me on site; Mr. Michelle, who made the whole painting process seem as easy as 1,2,3.

I was more than happy to be invited once again by my old friends from St+Art India for another fantastic culture and arts festival in Delhi\’s Lodhi colony, where a couple of hundred (!) large wall are being redesigned by artists from all over the world and India alike. Since I haven´t been to India in more than three years, this was a long overdue chance to revisit many old friends and breathe some smoggy Delhi winter fog.
Some impressions from the latest Graffiti trip to the massive Joybo event in Chongqing, China. Along with the fantastic Zebster, CanTwo, Hombre and Case, I was honored to be part of the jury to judge the winner amongst Asia´s top graffiti writers and street artists. Of course we got to paint quite a bit as well on the side. Great vibes!
A few impressions from my recent work at the Creative World fair in Frankfurt in collaboration with the Style Scouts. The mural shows the development of our beloved “Graffiti” (whatever that is, differs of course from writer to writer) from cave paintings to Graffiti futurism and beyond.

I painted a few things at this years edition of Artlon in the wonderful city of Rheinberg. Good vibes, clean styles. To view the augmented reality layer of the piece, simply download the Artivive app – www.artivive.com – and point it at the following image (enlarge before):

Silverheights
20 x 12m
Painted this mural in the summer of 2018 in Halle Silberhöhe. Abstracted shapes of aluminum foil give reference to the name of the neighbourhood, that translates as “silver heights”. Thanks to the whole team of Freiraumgalerie for making it happen!
Lately I have been experimenting with augmented and mixed reality application development and finally I am figuring a few things out about it. Thanks to a few youtube tutorials I got the transparent shadow plane working after quite a few tries. Now I just wish, other people besides me could actually have the same experience, watching those pieces. But since the app is custom written in Unity I will not be able to put it out through the official app store. This is how it works btw (there was a discussion on reddit a few days ago and various ideas rambling about):After painting on the wall directly, I created some 3D models to match the piece with Unity 3d. With this software and the Vuforia package I built an AR app that runs on my android phone, matching the 3d models on the reference image of the wall.
Following a series of pieces using augmented reality elements, here are some canvases I enhanced with another level of perception to give the viewer the option of diving into the artwork, exploring it from all sides equally.Up to date I was always rather sceptical about VR and AR and the direction of perception these mediums are leading. Basically away from reality that is and the latter I cherish a lot. But I must admit, the sensation of diving into an artwork is quite something special and offers tremendous possibilities. As always we can only see where this future will lead us.

Mixed Media inside object frame
52cm x 52cm x 5cm
This typographic sculpture – made mostly of Kapa board- uses an infinite mirror effect to create the ultimate depth illusion. The LED lights that are mounted on the inside can be controlled through a remote control (included in the package) and are powered through a battery pack that can be refilled with three regular AA batteries on the back of the frame. On full power the set of batteries last between 2 and 6 hours (depending on the quality of the batteries. When the LED´s are switched off, the frame reflects merely the inside of the room (just like a blue-ish mirror) and one can hardly see the inside of the frame. Comes with a remote control to switch on and off and change through different light modes.
I was honored to be joining this years mural art and graffiti festival Wallskar, close to Nanxian in China. An extraordinary event set amidst a peaceful village outside of the city of Nanxian, where virtually all houses are to be painted. Since there are a lot of them, I strapped my gloves and mask on and painted 6 pieces in the 9 days I was there. Definetely a fav in painting scenarios ever.
