Meta Graff / Future paint series

2022

In these performative short videos, I explore visual ideas of new forms of CGI supported abstract painting. Using tools like 3d software and augmented reality assets in an increasingly digital world seems to be a logical step for me as an artist, accessing new aesthetics and blurring the lines between reality and computer generated overlays further thus creating surreal moments.

Leipzig Mural Fest / Leipzig, Germany / 2021

In visible silence

12 x 8m

Painted at Hirzelstraße, Leipzig @leipzigmuralfest

Feel like a lemming sometimes?

Finding balance in this fast paced, complex and increasingly fragmented world sometimes seems like an impossible task. Given the fact that any construction is meant to collapse at some point, modern life and it’s urge to innovate sometimes seem absurd up to a point beyond absurdity.
And even though, things seem rather deranged and often enough unquestionably incomprehensible, usually at one point there is one striking factor that evens out the confusion: the sheer beauty of sensual existence.

Urbanmorphogenesis / Solnechnodolsk, Russia / 2021

Futur 2

18 x 12m

Painted for and by the Urbanmorphogenesis Team in Solnechnodolsk in 2021.

The piece takes strong reference to the increasing displacement of concrete realities of life into the virtual space through a broad spectrum of technical tools. My current motif imagery plays with classical as well as digital motifs alike and builds free chains of associations without becoming too concrete. Resembling the transience of a dream, I try to invite the viewers to embark on an abstract journey through their own subconscious, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction. The architectural illusion of depth is underlined by the additional Augmented Reality (AR) layer that the viewers can experience through the customized Artivive app on their smartphones.

A single Edition NFT of this AR Mural can be obtained via rarible.

Metropolink Festival / Heidelberg, Germany / 2021

For a few short days the architecture of the former american airbase Patrick Henry Village near Heidelberg captivated me in the summer of 2021. Thanks to the whole team @metropolinkurbanartfestival we managed to complete 4 pieces in only 4 days.

Architek

AR mural

This building came with a lot of windows. Naturally these can be disturbing for a coherent design and therefore I tried to incorporate the indentations as good as possible, aiming at creating an illusion in which you couldn’t tell the painted objects from real ones. On top we built and shaped a few wooden panels to underline this approach. And of course an augmentedreality layer.

Cryptoart & NFTs / New series now available

For a while I´ve been thinking about a way to preserve these pieces that are often lost and destroyed almost instantly, after I painted them. Mural art comes with a certain ephemerality that lies in the ways of the world. Nothing lasts forever. It took me a bit to realize, that Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) backed by the Ethereum bockchain offer a certified way of preserving these pieces, that otherwise would only keep existing on my harddrive. At least for a little bit longer.

Even though the gas prices (transaction costs) are quite high in the past couple of months,  I decided to release a series of limited edition NFTs featuring some my favourite pieces that I painted in recent times. After the release, each artwork (image, video, etc.) will be deleted from my social media accounts and will solely available as NFT. Each buyer will also get a digital copy of the specific piece through a downloadable link. You can obtain your freshly minted token here (via rarible.com or foundation.app).

If you would like to learn more about the basic means of crypto art, feel free to check this short video:

Mural Oasis / Las Vegas, USA / 2019

One of the most interesting projects I was ever blessed to join happened last year outside of Las Vegas. ? @muraloasis features the largest, most interesting and world class collection of contemporary muralism that I have seen up to date. I’m more than honored to show my works amongst some of my favourite artists, inspirations and friends there. Pure awesomeness. Huge thanks to the whole production team @themuralco !

Geometry Graffiti / Lyon, France / 2020

Just before the lockdown, I had a beautiful day in the sun at a beautiful spot around the corner of Painture Fraiche Festival Lyon, France to paint around 10 smaller pieces and geometry arrangements. Felt like spring.
